Our 2010 Theme is Stranded Knitting
This may be anything which incorporates stranded knitting in a project - as a whole, or as a part of the project.
Each guild member is invited to make a project related to this theme during the year. We will unveil our projects at the January 2011 meeting.
Projects must be:
- knitted
- made during 2010
- related to the theme
Come to our meetings to find out more!
Members have access to special member retreats twice per year.
We had a smaller group at the June meeting and, as a result, we collected a smaller number of items for our charity knitting. However, it is still obvious that people have lots on their needles for charity. We received eight hats and two afghans in addition to a lovely shawl. The recipients of your charity will be thrilled. Keep up the good work.

1. Hats and mittens for children
These items will be donated to shelters in
Clackamas and Washington counties, who provide services to women and children.
We have been told that, while there is a need for hats and mittens for everyone, there
is a special need for these items for children. So, get out your yarn and needles and
start knitting!

2. Project Senior Warm Up
The 2010 Project Senior Warm Up is a volunteer cause which will provide warmth and
comfort to seniors. Each volunteer will knit some magic within the twisted strands of
wool and cotton, with a goodly measure of kindness, compassion, and love in every
stitch to those seniors in need. This is a worthy volunteer opportunity which would
support our local senior's residents and clients in recovery within the rehab section of
the Evergreen Nursing Home in Hillsboro, Oregon. This is a great way for those knitters
who wish to use up your stash. If you are interested in helping out this cause, you
can knit a 44" x 36" lap blanket or 18" x 60" shawl, it can be specifically for a female or
male. Or those who dare to be different knitters, put your needle working skills toward
something that would be appropriate for either gender. For those who dare to be different,
here's a website for other items which would provide usefulness within a Nursing
Home:
