In May, we were visited by Betsy McCarthy, author of Knit Socks! (the sock-shaped book).

She took us on a knitter’s odyssey, sharing the story behind her book. Betsy also provided us with a generic pattern to get us started on the road to sock knitting, and inspire those of us already there to begin designing our own. She brought and showed us sample socks from her book.

Betsy has taught numerous knitting classes and workshops nationally at XRX’s Stitches events, as well as regionally at Black Sheep Gathering, and locally in the Seattle- and Portland-area shops. Her designs have been published by Fiber Trends patterns. She currently teaches weekly project classes at Unraveled, a shop in downtown Vancouver not far from where she lives
