2008 Theme of the Year

Our 2007 Theme is "Adding Color to your knitting".

This may be anything to do with color, whether it be stripes, stranded or fair isle, as long as it is knitted.

Each guild member is invited to make a project related to this them during the year. We will unveil our projects at the January 2009 meeting.

Projects must be:

(1) knitted

(2) made during 2008

(3) related to the theme

Charity Knitting -Cat Blankets and Chemo Caps

The Cat Adoption Team (CAT) in Sherwood would like to have knitted blankets for their kitties.

CAT is a non-profit organization that has become the largest no-kill hospital/shelter for cats on the West Coast. They take in unwanted, abandoned, or injured cats and kittens, vaccinate them, give them any other veterinary treatment they need, spay or neuter them, give them an identity microchip, and find good homes for them. CAT houses 200-300 cats on-site, plus another 150-300 are in foster homes. Last year they adopted out nearly 2500 cats. Blankets for these cats would certainly make them more comfortable.

Only a 15 x 18 piece is required — one skein of yarn! CAT is located at 14175 SW Galbreath Drive (across from the Sherwood DMV). Join Roxie in this project by bringing her your cat blanket at our next monthly meeting and she will deliver them for you. To make your charity knitting experience even more exciting, All About Yarn (in Tigard, OR) will be making up
Chemo Hat Kits (Phone:- (503) 684-4851). Go to All About Yarn to pick up a kit including yarn and a pattern, then drop off your finished item when it’s done and pick up another kit!
